Cat's capture.

Addendum.

Damn, Guy is such a chad

31563: Zet - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 2:05 AM

I heard that real cats love boxes. If this cat doesn't... then it's not a real cat!

31564: Cromire - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 2:32 AM

...Dammit Guy! We were just about to hear something interesting!

31566: The_Squished_Elf - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 3:14 AM

Cool Guy strikes again!

31567: UnknownID - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 5:34 AM

Catched in a paperbox. The perfect way to capture cats. A real cat would have jumped into it willingly. You are no real cat if you don't like these boxes :D

Of course Guy found a way to use Burk's shenanigans to his advantage. Dude's really good at what he does, although I guess it helps that Team Pablo are drawing all the attention to themselves.

Ahh, yes, my Guy! I missed you, honey! And you're as ruggedly handsome and smart as ever! Awwh yeah, look at you get that pussy!

(I'm sorry for that double entendre; it was horrible and crass, but as everyone have already pointed out: This is clearly not a real cat, so it does not deserve either my better puns OR no puns at all!)

31571: Z2 - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 12:50 PM

Burk needs twenty pages and all his opponents to act like idiots to fake being awesome while accomplishing nothing.

Guy needs one and a cardboard box to start taking prisoners.

@Z2: Yeah, that's one thing I really love about the comic. It really goes out of its way to show how immensely valuable non-combat skills are - Pablo, Guy, Tobi in some respects (she can clearly hold her own in the right circumstances, but her more useful skills lately don't involve combat much at all)...

Technically even Noah is something of a counter-example, as he hasn't developed any combat skills OR non-combat skills, and we see how much he, er... Struggles, because of it. And Burk is another counter-example - He is the perfect meatshield and can dish out some damage, but holy gods does he need some help in the non-combat department - And thankfully he has it. Which, oddly, is yet again showing off Pablo's skills - Immense patience, empathy, understanding and cunning to deal with Burk being Burk, and understand the extent and limit of his utility.

Granted, even Pablo falls short there sometimes, and he could work on that, but... Have you met Burk? He's a lot. He's a LOT.

Never mistake lack of knowledge with lack of intellect. Exploit the the weakness of relying on only one.

Also, to echo the comment sentiment: Guy's pretty cool.

31574: Darius Drake - Sunday, May 8 2022 - 9:07 PM

@ 31572: Pablo doesn't need to work on his non-combat skills, he has plenty of them. He just needs to get into situations where his diplomatic skills are directly applicable, rather than being applied in a tangental means.

Guy, meanwhile, is a Police Investigator, and his non-combat skills are directly applicable to the situations we've seen coming up in the comic. Saying that Pablo doesn't have non-combat skills due to how much more useful Guy's are in this situation is like saying that a Blacksmith doesn't have crafting skills because they can't fix an object on the spot that a Travelling Tinker can easily.

I'm not sure how I feel about Guy. On one hand, he was kind to Windows Radar. But on another, he was mean to the nice pirate girl in the castle.

@Woddledude
For all we know, Burk may be achieving exaclty what he wants... problem is, we can't be sure what that is. Or if he even wants to achieve anything.

At the very least, everything we've seen so far reinforces my belief that he has no magic/spirit whatsoever and is in fact largely intangible to it.

Guy is great because he gets the job done even with the simplest of tricks.

Just finished Trigun recently. I wonder if Guy's design was inspired by Wolfwood.
