As one of the people who has just flew under the radar this entire time I could see him being the host or something.
Other ones I see are...
* Maria because she seems to promote conflict and behaviors that keep people stuck around longer
* Mr Green because I could see him being not the whistleblower who he claims to be since he was willing to vote to spare after getting the response of magic users being needed for the experiment (something people didn't really question at all until the fact they're in a mine came up)

Honestly, the big question mark for me wrt who the "host" is is why would such an important person with options and control put themselves at risk? Maybe the title host is ironic, and it's a coerced Smile Foundation peon. If not, though, why not? It's hard to assure someone's safety in a DEATHgame.
