Hmm, theory:
This isn't Chernyl's actual mindscape. This is a representation of whatever mechanism Hallowman is using to keep her unconscious - it looks like it came from a nightmare because it literally was created by one. The painting is a gateway to Chernyl's actual dream.

@que i think that while the nightmares will disappear, the effects theyve had on the real world wont. such as all of the people that they killed will stay dead, all the stuff they broke will stay broken, and noels freaky new arm will stay freaky and also attached to his body.
