Theory: They don't know for sure that he have magic powers, so by showing up to apprehend him, they hope he will resort to magic in order to escape?

Well... it seems that in this world, no matter how serious of a job/career a person has, it is inevitable that they will say or do silly things.
Combine that with the magic, take away some negative stuff like homicidal elves, and... I think I would like to live in - or at least be able to visit - this world.
However, I'll continue to strive with being content with being able to see it while living on Earth. As it is though, such is the same for most everyone else I believe. Ah well...

once I was locked out of the dorm, and all my roommates weren't coming back anytime soon, so I went to stay in the next dorm. To make sure I didn't miss any of my roommates, I hung a pair of old shoes (they were one of my roommates', she meant to tossed them out but apparently forgot to do so and left them in the corridor instead) on the door nob. one of my roommates came back and started yelling 'who the hell put this...' I got in. lmao
