@Welf They said earlier fairies weren't particularly trustworthy according to legends. They did risk cooperating with her to survive, but for her their survival was only means to some hidden goal. Either spreading this goo to their world, or this is only another step in her plan. I bet Valiant will start fighting the fairy really soon.

Compare "I can open the gate for as long as needed" with "the window is small" and all the calls to hurry.
Also note how it's the black goop monster that actually opened the shattered passageways... as if the fairy and the black goop monster were actually the same thing. The attack and intervention were just theatrics to get the kids to believe it.
