It makes me feel ...

Let it all out, doll. How does it make you feel?

I went ahead and added a few dozen pages to the wiki

41544: Alcemon - Monday, April 15 2024 - 1:29 AM

Apetite for random destruction fanned

41545: Flangan - Monday, April 15 2024 - 1:50 AM

Exciting

I expect a title drop on the next page.

I feel like Evyle isn't a very good person, but based on her monologue here I hope she might find... idk a word that communicates what I mean without making me sound like an insane zealot, but I guess rightousness? Virtue? ... even if the comic moves on and doesn't show it. It seems like she has strong principles, and has willingly compromised them to the point that she'd "not care" about "killing puppies for fun," but that compromising has caused her psychic damage that she only tolerated because she valued her autonomy more, an autonomy that was otherwise in question.

In other words, I interpret her as a rather tragic figure, and feel much more sympathy for her than I ever expected.

I never thought I'd have an ounce of sympathy for this twisted woman, but here we are.

Crack-Theory: Evelle doesn’t care what happens to her life at all, she’s just doing all this to win that contest of hate with Burke.

But seriously, she’s making a pretty strong argument for burning her whole life down. The second that Heroland steps in to crack down on the chaos and restore order, they’ll raid her base, like Vonny said they would. Especially with how the Heroland executives are acting. Evelle is a perfect scapegoat, and the truth of the matter is much more complicated and hard to prove. Her actions make a ton of sense, even the extreme nature off them.

I just can’t figure out if she’s intending on SURVIVING THEM HERSELF or not.

I'm reminded of that momentary glance down of regret a few pages ago...
I wonder if Vonesperda will have a hail-mary or this really is the end for the spirit.

Angry?
Frustrated?
Liberated?
Free?

...Wow, this is really great stuff. I can't even be clever with it, there's just something fascinating about this character development.

41554: Melany - Monday, April 15 2024 - 10:39 AM

It makes sense. Evyle's life is going to burn down regardless - she just intends to do it on her own terms.

You know, I actually kind of want Evyle to end up on Team Burk after all this somehow. I have absolutely no idea what sequence of events could possibly lead to that, but it would be rad as hell.

since the symbol next to noah on the sidebar kinda looks like the mastermind building and logo, i think evyle is going to go to Justopea at some point after this chapter
