Posturing.

Well he did warn you.

11401: Tom - Monday, December 19 2016 - 2:23 AM

So THAT'S what Burk dodged. Damn.

For someone known as "Iron Judge", he sure uses a lot of fire :o

Is he projecting himself via the fire?

11402: verycoolname - Monday, December 19 2016 - 3:14 AM

being smug ain't a bad thing. Being smug and wrong can be positively lethal.

@Tom: I thought it was some sort of fire based teleport. Or at least a sort of smokescreen/flashbang like skill for not letting people see him approach.

11403: Ladon - Monday, December 19 2016 - 3:47 AM

This may not actually be an easy win for Aria

11404: giovanni - Monday, December 19 2016 - 4:24 AM

will the judge melt the iron?
or will he flame out?
lets find out, in the next episode of "Hero oh Hero"

11405: J - Monday, December 19 2016 - 5:29 AM

I just realized how badly I wish I could sudden fwoosh.

The judge is probably getting owned but he's being awesome in the meantime.

11406: whitemanpt - Monday, December 19 2016 - 7:48 AM

i tink this earns a well said "i told u so" to the dead guy

11407: Jack Morgan - Monday, December 19 2016 - 8:14 AM

RIP in pepperonis fat dude. Also, I figure the Judge is going to win this fight, he seems to understand Ariara's abilities well, where she probably has no experience with his.

Also, typo in the 4th panel, wanna got turned into wana.

11408: Bisected - Monday, December 19 2016 - 8:50 AM

So why's he the iron judge when he's clearly more like the smelting judge?

11409: Leo - Monday, December 19 2016 - 11:03 AM

Ooh, fiery projection. The judge's use of Free Magic is really cool! I wonder why he only uses fire and light...

11410: Scarred Wrable - Monday, December 19 2016 - 12:26 PM

Man oh man the Iron judge is the COOLEST, But he HAS to be exhausted after all that magic I mean first he trapped those prisoners then he fought Burk now hes going up against Ariara, He CANNOT have much left in the tank

11411: Scarred Wrable - Monday, December 19 2016 - 12:32 PM

Yo @Neoriceisgood just to give some constructive criticism ( I know you have a buffer of already made comics so it wont make much difference but I thought I would at least tell you what I'm thinking )

In my opinion Burks story is by far the best not because of him but because of the wealth of new characters and magic and action that seem to pop up around him.

His story or arc or whatever you want to call it seems to embody the best parts of this comic and the other two characters seem bland and meaningless in comparison.

It just feels like Noah is being used entirely as a world building tool with no personality of his own or relevance and Tobi just seems so irrelevant and meaningless, Who wants to read about her trying to get home when you could read about the Iron judges showdown ?

Just my 2 cents anyway keep up the good work

11412: Phobal - Monday, December 19 2016 - 10:07 PM

@ Scarred Wrable
Me! I want to read about the other two characters too. I agree with you, that Burks story is the most action packed and mostly about "show, dont tell" regarding the magic and the world. But I still like Noahs and Tobis story. Each of them has their own theme and style and I like the way they strengthen each other. Tobi just wants to get home and learn how to do that, Noah wants to get out of this whole business with the least inconvenience damage and Burk... is Burk =) (I dont like only Action, the Action interspersed with World Building, like done here, is more suited for me)

I am not saying my opinion is right and yours wrong. Just wanted to state my liking of this set up against your disliking of it.

> So why's he the iron judge when he's clearly more like the smelting judge?

Maybe it's kind of like the Baron, at some point he got petrified and turned to solid iron, but then later he got magically restored. And fire magic is a byproduct or something.

Or, maybe his fire magic is actually his weakest and crappiest magic which he only uses when he's warming up. Maybe when he shows us his "true form" he's going to get all loony toons and cause anvils to fall from the sky on his enemies.

11414: burkfan - Tuesday, December 20 2016 - 12:50 AM

@Scarred Even if Burk will always be the coolest, I disagree.

IMO Noah "harry Potter" venture is less exciting but I think it's just a setting for something big.

I also really enjoyed Tobi in Lorg, lot of fun stuff, death run, assasins, presentation of most wanted magic users, etc

11415: Conchord - Tuesday, December 20 2016 - 1:08 AM

@Scarred Wrable, I find I'm quite the opposite. I like all three (bit more than 3 now :P) arcs but have recently found myself leaning towards Noah being my favourite.

For me, Burk is your instant gratification type comic. Giving you bursts of action and comedy but never really making you think too far under the surface.

Toby is your 'coming- of- age' type comic. It's more about her journey, and realising her potential, than the destination.

Noah, I see as the dark horse and the real thinkers arc. For me, his holds most intrigue. His ability is clearly very powerful and I'm excited to see how he chooses to use it.

Going back to Burk, I think if you stuck to just him, and the characters surrounding him, it'd get old really quick. Although the action panes are good I think the fact that they are rare is what makes them so.

Not saying your opinion is wrong btw! Everyone has their own and all should be respected :)

11416: Jack Morgan - Tuesday, December 20 2016 - 8:18 AM

@iceiceice

I figure they call him the Iron Judge because of his armor and steely personality.

Lay off Ariara fatman needs this like he needs a hole in the chest... or 5

11420: Saiko - Tuesday, December 20 2016 - 11:35 PM

That's what you get for hanging around psychos like Ariara. They'll use you, and if no longer useful, will make fun of you, before disposing.
