No, isn't it the result of Noah's second wish, the one he went into a cow's mind to make? The wish to better communicate with Ciel. Noah never used his power again afte that, so he's probably not aware of this particular side effect.

It can't be Grey Child's second wish because they said they are reserving it for now. Even if the wish is made at the start of the mind-trip, this would only be the first wish of the deal.

I feel like Ciel and Noah can usually communicate mentally??? It's unclear here whether Ciel is Hearing what Noah meant by the "Nh", or just inferring it. Being physical might have drawbacks.

We've seen a few spirits with physical bodies already (for example Minxery I think? Jay-Jay's spirit), it's a known advanced spirit technique even, so I doubt it will be that much of a problem.

I don't know if being inside a mindscape counts as being "physical", honestly. It's kind of virtual reality, after all. Noah can enter it physically, but all other entities here are virtual, and whether Ciel can exit it and be Noah's waifu remains to be seen.

I am starting to suspect that Ciel's magic, while suppressed, still attempted to reach out to other people. Which ended up both awakening Noah's magic, and colouring it in such a way that it was innately linked to minds.

Due to this brand new suspicion, I am of the opinion that Noah, if he did ever awaken, would either have Free Magic, or some form of Disappearance Pandemonium Magic. Free Magic from the wish-granting benefits, and Disappearance from the teleport into mind & hatred of being touched. The possibility of the Disappearance Magic being either Intangibility or Teleportation is there.
